Psalm 78:4

“We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done”

With the news last month of the passing of Rev. Billy Graham a lot of talk has been about his legacy, which is immense. I got to wondering what will be the legacy each of us will leave behind.  What will your family remember about you? What have you told them about what is really important to you? What have you shown them is really important to you?

Try this little inventory:

  • What do I spend most of my free time on?
  • What do I spend most of my money on – besides the earthly so called essentials?
  • What do others hear us say about people?
  • Is my humor self-deprecating or focused on putting down or speaking down about others?
  • Am I able to say I Love You?
  • Is there enough evidence in my life to convict me of being a follower of Jesus?0
  • List the three most important things in your life and then determine if they are eternal or temporal in nature.

This is a survey we each need to take to see how our legacy is doing and what sort of real inheritance we are leaving behind.

Remember things can be replaced but a soul cannot.
